Our Practice Areas

Removal Defense & Detained Representation

We represent immigrants facing removal (deportation) proceedings in immigration courts. Our team provides skilled and compassionate defense, protecting clients’ rights and building strong cases to help them remain in the United States. We also represent detained individuals, offering advocacy both inside and outside the detention facility, and working to secure their release whenever possible.

USCIS Applications

We assist clients in preparing and filing applications with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). This includes petitions for family members, adjustment of status (green card applications), naturalization, work authorization, travel documents, and other immigration benefits. We guide clients through each step of the process, ensuring forms are completed accurately, supporting evidence is properly submitted, and deadlines are met. Our goal is to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible while maximizing the chances of approval.

Asylum

We provide experienced and compassionate representation for individuals seeking asylum in the United States. Our attorneys have extensive experience gained through years of work with Kentucky Refugee Ministries, where we prepared and filed hundreds of successful asylum applications for clients from around the world. We guide applicants through every stage of the process—from preparing a detailed personal statement and gathering supporting evidence to representing them at interviews and hearings. Our deep knowledge of asylum law and our proven record of success allow us to advocate effectively for clients fleeing persecution and seeking safety in the United States.

Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) Representation

We represent immigrant children in family court proceedings to obtain the custody orders required for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS). SIJS provides a vital pathway to lawful permanent residency for juveniles who cannot reunify with one or both parents due to abuse, neglect, or abandonment. Our team guides young clients and their families through the family court process with care and compassion, ensuring that the necessary findings are made to support their immigration case. We then coordinate closely with the immigration process to protect the child’s best interests and long-term stability in the United States.

Appeals of Removal Orders

We represent clients to challenge removal (deportation) orders before the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and federal courts. An appeal can be the last opportunity to remain in the United States, and our team carefully reviews the immigration judge’s decision, identifies legal errors, and develops strong arguments to protect our clients’ rights. With experience handling complex immigration matters, we provide thorough and strategic advocacy to give each case the best chance of success on appeal.

Criminal Defense for Immigrants

Attorney Audrey Trigg represents immigrants accused of crimes in Jefferson County, providing skilled defense with a focus on protecting her clients’ immigration status. Criminal convictions can carry serious immigration consequences, including deportation, detention, or loss of immigration benefits. Audrey ensures her clients fully understand these risks and works to negotiate the best possible plea agreements to minimize immigration consequences. With experience at the intersection of criminal and immigration law, she provides informed and strategic advocacy to safeguard both her clients’ rights and their future in the United States.

Before entering private practice, Audrey served as Senior Immigration Attorney at Kentucky Refugee Ministries, where she supervised Department of Justice–accredited representatives, coordinated services for Louisville’s large Afghan and Cuban refugee populations, and maintained a caseload of hundreds of clients. Her leadership focused on improving access to high-quality legal representation through innovation and mentorship.
